Torres Bermejas Flamenco Show – A Classic Madrid Tablao Experience

Where to see a good Flamenco show in Madrid?

You are never shy of options for things to do in Madrid. The city center is full of bars, shops, markets, restaurants, coffee shops, museums, the choices are endless. But no trip to Madrid is complete without seeing a Flamenco show.

If you have come to visit Madrid then seeing a good Flamenco show is already on your list, but how do you choose?

Torres Bermejas is one of the first places to consider.

This legendary Tablao has been open since 1960 and and has an atmosphere that really immerses you in the experience.

You won’t need to travel far either, it’s bang in the center of Madrid.

The aesthetic is definitely one of the best, and the show is one of, if not the most authentic Flamenco show in Madrid.

As soon as you enter, the décor draws you in, you clearly see the inspiration of the Moorish- style halls of Alhambra in Granada. The wood carvings, shimmering tiles, arabesque arches.

It’s really pretty.

The best names in Flamenco have passed through here to perform at some point and for good reason. Torres Bermejas lives up to its nickname as one of the most respected flamenco venues in Spain.

What Makes It Special

Torres Bermejas is one of Madrid’s oldest flamenco venues, if for nothing else, it’s worth a visit just to see the architecture.

The have over 20 artists on rotation, singers, dancers, guitarists. So you can go more than once and see a different show.

If you want to make a whole night of it there are also dinner options. You can enjoy a traditional Spanish meal, or a tapa’s menu with a few drinks before Torres Bermejas

What to Expect at the Flamenco Show

You will get emotional, or at least I do. The sound of the guitar, the raspy voices of the singer, the hard knocking of the thick soles on the wooden stage and you are so close to the stage.

It really is a roller-coaster of emotions. Each scene builds up slowly and the emotion builds, theres tension, an immersive experience. There’s not many performance you can watch like Flamenco that makes you feel so much every time.

The shows last around an hour, there are multiple shows a day starting early afternoon around 17:00 and depending on the venue shows go until 21:00 or later.

There isn’t really a dress code, but I prefer to go to an evening show and dress smart casual, it adds to the experience.

You don’t want to go to an early show on a Wednesday when the footballs been on with a crowd shouting in shorts!

Food & Drinks (Optional)

If you choose a dinner or tapas option expect tortilla española, croquetas, gazpacho, paella, and cheesecake for the tapas menu. This can vary, but these are the usual staples.

If you go for the full menu, this will vary depending on the day, I would call and check this (they speak english), or you can take a walk past and they usually have the menu at the door.

If you go for the full dinner menu, get there about an hour before the show so you can eat in comfort before it gets busy in there.

Insider Tips

The earlier you get to a Flamenco show, the better your seats. These shows are really popular, so you want to get there 30 minutes before the show starts.

The closer you are to the front stage, the more you will feel the experience.

Keep an eye out for special performances, they are known to host a celebrity from time to time.

After the show, take a walk along Gran Via and take in some of the night views, all the buildings are lit up, makes for some great pictures.

Who It’s For

A perfect first time experience if this is your fist time seeing a Flamenco show in Madrid. Great for a night out in Madrid with a group of friends, date night, or even to go solo.

Final Verdict

If you want an evening that blends Spanish cultural heritage, great performance, and a beautiful setting in central Madrid, Torres Bermejas is a strong choice. You’ll leave with memories of music, dance, and that unmistakable flamenco passion.
