Best Family-Friendly Hotels in Madrid (2026)

Where to stay in Madrid with kids — without sacrificing comfort, fun, or location.

Finding family-friendly hotels can be difficult in any city, and Madrid is no different.

As someone who’s lived in Madrid for a while now (15+ years), I get a lot of questions from friends traveling here with their families: “Where’s a good place to stay with kids?” And honestly, it’s a great question — because not every “family-friendly” hotel actually makes things easier.

You don’t just want a good hotel, it needs to be close to everywhere so the kids can walk, there has to be a park nearby or the kids get cabin fever ! Only those of us that have kids know what they need, so I have tried to give you the best advice as someone that has travelled extensively with children.

So here’s a handpicked list of Madrid’s best family-friendly hotels. These places either have spacious rooms, pools, breakfast spreads kids love, or are near green spaces like Retiro Park where little ones can run free and teenager’s can go of and sulk.

Whether you’re here for a few nights or planning a longer adventure, these stays will make your family trip smoother, easier, and more fun.

1. Only YOU Hotel Atocha

only you atocha

📍 Atocha – Next to Retiro Park
💸 From ~€210/night

This is one of my top recommendations — and I actually send visiting family here often. It’s right across the street from Retiro Park (read: instant daily playground access), and walking distance to museums and Atocha station.

The hotel feels cool, not corporate, but still has large rooms and soundproofing — helpful when traveling with kids. The breakfast buffet? A total winner.

Why it works for families: Great location, spacious rooms, excellent service, stylish but relaxed atmosphere.

2. NH Collection Madrid Colón

A quieter choice in a classy neighborhood. You’re close to parks and quieter streets, plus shops and nice cafés for the grown-ups. NH always does well for space and cleanliness, and many rooms here have enough space for small families or connecting options.

Why families love it: Peaceful location, spacious rooms, rooftop pool, strong breakfast game.

3. Hyatt Centric Gran Vía Madrid

For families who: Want energy, fun, and central access with a modern feel.
