I have lived in Madrid for 15 years and I have never struggle to find something to do. This year is no different with a mixture of photography, painting, immersive art exhibitions all around the city.
These are just some of the exhibitions in Madrid you really should not miss if you are going to be in the city.

Exhibitions in Madrid, a city full of art, culture, one of the key points why so many people visit Madrid year after year. As well as having some of the best museums in the world, independent art galleries, there also continuous exhibitions taking place around the city.
I really enjoy seeing new things in Madrid and it never disappoints. There is a lot to choose from and a lot to discover and I want to share some of my favorites for this summer.
1. Notre-Dame de París. La exposición aumentada
This exhibition has already been displayed in London, Paris, Washington, Dubai and many other major cities around the globe. Now you have the chance to see this one of a kind exhibition at the Palacio de Ciebeles, a world renowned landmark.
To get the most out of this exhibition, you will need to take a tablet or have your phone with you.
As you walk through the exhibition, you will scan codes that take you through ‘doors of time’ showing you historical reconstructions of the Notre Damn from its origins all the way up to the fateful fire it suffered back in 2019.
If you bring the kids with you, they also have an interactive treasure hunt whilst you are busy with your own interactive tour.
The exhibition takes place at the Ciebeles Palace from 10am -8pm Monday to Sunday.

2. The Berlin Wall. A divided world
If you have visited the parks in Madrid, you will have seen there is a piece of the Berlin Wall preserved in the Berlin Park in Chamartin. But if you want to see and learn a lot more then you have to go and see the Berlin Wall, A Divided World exhibition in Madrid this summer.
A World Divided comes th Madrid with more than 20 meters of that historic wall and nearly 300 original objects. Many of these objects are on display to the public for the first time thanks to the collaboration of the Berlin Wall Foundation.

- Dates: For a limited time in Madrid.
- Hours: 10:00 to 22:00 (last access at 19:30). Tuesday closed.
- Recommended duration: 150 minutes approximately.
- Place: Sala Castellana 214 (Fundación Canal), Paseo de la Castellana 214, Madrid.
3. Paint your own menina workshop + entrance to the Velázquez Tech Museum
We all know of the world renowned artist Velasquez and His painting the Menina’s. With this interactive you can create your very own.
First you will enjoy an immersive experience with Menina sculptures projected with video mapping accompanied by baroque music and contemporary rhythms. You also get to feel the Las Meninas Canvas in 4 dimensions and rooms with holograms projected across the walls.
Once you have seen there is all to see, you get to design your very own Menina and this could also be selected to be displayed in the streets of Madrid during the “Meninas Madrid Gallery” exhibition in the fall.

4. Museum of Happiness
Here’s another one that will raise your spirits, the museum of happiness. A selection of carefully curated exhibitions aimed at raising your serotonin levels and filling you with laughter an joy.
As well as a lot of laughs, you’ll also learn in an entertaining way about the history, culture, science and future of happiness.
There are different rooms with more than 20 immersive fun experiences, a laughter therapy machine, happiness atm, magic show and many other surprises.
A fun experience to enjoy with friends, family or whomever you want.

– The museum closes from Friday to Sunday at 22:00 and from Monday to Thursday at 21:00 (except holidays).
⏳ Duration: from 75 to 90 minutes approx.
5- Metallica Madrid Takeover Exhibition Madrid
For all you music and rock fans out there this ones for you. Experience an unforgettable evening at Teatro Eslava in Madrid!
You’ll hear to hear an exclusive talk by iconic British photographer Ross Halfin, currently on tour with Metallica, who has photographed rock and metal legends like AC/DC, Iron Maiden, and Led Zeppelin.
